Altitude Festival brings music and magic back to the Blackdown Hills
From dance veterans to storytelling and street food, the not-for-profit festival promises fun for all ages this July
Music lovers and families alike are gearing up for a weekend of rhythm and revelry as Altitude Festival prepares to return to the Blackdown Hills next month.
Nestled in the picturesque village of Blackborough, the not-for-profit festival promises three days of immersive entertainment when it opens on Thursday, July 24.
With its intimate size and strong community ethos, Altitude aims to provide a relaxed and inclusive environment for all ages — from toddlers to teens and grandparents — to play, dance, and create lasting memories together.
Headliners include legendary psychedelic rockers Ozric Tentacles, high-energy Bristol collective Cut Capers, and local favourites The Barefoot Bandit. Alongside these, a lively schedule of DJs and bands will take to stages including Electric Avenue, where dance music veterans Utah Saints and Leeroy Thornhill of The Prodigy are set to perform.
The festival also boasts a family entertainment area filled with free workshops, interactive shows, circus skills sessions, storytelling, comedy, and magical performances.
Organisers say the event offers “a safe, fun, and engaging environment where imaginations can run wild”.
Away from the main stage, festivalgoers can enjoy a diverse range of street food, craft beers, and dedicated chill-out zones.
Since its inception, Altitude has raised over £50,000 for local causes such as Devon Air Ambulance, Hospice Care, and the Laura Persey Trust.
Weekend tickets, including camping, start at £55 for children and seniors, and £120 for adults. Day tickets are also available.
