Twin Falls man charged with rape
Matthew Brooks made his initial court appearance on Wednesday
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Matthew Brooks, 30, of Twin Falls, is charged with felony rape.
Brooks made his first appearance in Twin Falls County Magistrate Court Wednesday afternoon. He is being held on $250,000 bond.
According to court documents, Brooks contacted a woman on the social media site Snapchat, and they discussed a tattoo she wanted.
The woman told police he invited her over to his home, and she had consumed alcohol before hanging out.
In the affidavit, the woman told police he grabbed her face to get her to kiss him.
She also claimed Brooks put her on her back and removed her clothes with force before she allegedly blacked out.
When she came to, she realized she was in the middle of the sexual encounter and told Brooks to stop, but to no avail.
Brooks is due back in court on July 3 for a preliminary hearing.
