Girls-only firefighting camp empowers future female firefighters in Palm Beach Gardens
A first-of-its-kind summer camp in Palm Beach Gardens is empowering teenage girls by providing hands-on firefighting training alongside real firefighters.

Olivia, one of the campers, said, "I really wanted to come because I want to be a firefighter when I grow up and I think it's cool there are a group of girls were able to put on a camp so that other woman can be empowered to be a firefighters."
The camp is led by an all-female team, offering guidance and support to the teenagers as they learn essential firefighting skills.
"I think it's really special that girls are leading other girls to do a career that not many girls have the opportunity to do," said one participant.
Assistant Chief said, "They will learn a lot of techniques we do such as hose handling, barged down the door and they are climbing the ladder right now."
The camp focuses on strengthening physical abilities and boosting confidence among the young women.
Olivia expressed her motivation for attending the camp, stating, "I want to be a firefighter because I want to help people and make sure they feel safe and comfortable."
The camp aims to inspire young women and demonstrate that firefighting is not just a male-dominated profession, encouraging involvement in fire service for future generations.
