Bahraich: High ranking officials from India and Nepal on Friday chalked out strategies to curb smuggling, drug and human trafficking and other illegal cross-border activities through real-time information sharing and coordinated enforcement actions.
The discussion took place at the Border District Coordination Committee (BDCC) meeting convened at the Integrated Check Post (ICP) auditorium in Rupaidiha on the Indo-Nepal international border.
The meeting was jointly chaired by Bahriach's district magistrate Monica Rani and superintendent of police Ram Nayan Singh, along with senior officials from Nepal.
The key points of discussion included plans for joint patrolling in border areas, intensified surveillance and checking, and enhanced vigilance in sensitive zones.
The officials also deliberated on deepening bilateral ties, maintaining law and order, boosting trade, and addressing border-related challenges.
A special focus was given to preventing the movement of undesirable elements using fake documents and ensuring strict checking of individuals crossing the border. Discussions were also held on better coordination among the district police, Nepal Police, SSB, and other security agencies.
