NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa (KCRG) - A North Liberty woman pled guilty to child endangerment after her children were left alone in a house that caught fire.

Brittany Airhart, 29, pled guilty to two counts of child endangerment with substantial risk.

On November 11, 2024, Airhart left her children home alone and a small fire started in the living room of her apartment. The building was evacuated.

Firefighters rescued her children along with a dog found in the apartment at around 4:30 a.m.

She faces a maximum of two years in prison, a $8,450 fine, and a $6,250 OWI fine.

Her sentencing is set for August 14 at the Johnson County Courthouse.
