Burke County Sheriff’s patrol car hits biker south of Bowbells

BURKE COUNTY, N.D. (KMOT) - A bicyclist is seriously injured after getting hit by a Burke County Sheriff’s patrol car near Bowbells on Friday afternoon.
According to the state Highway Patrol, a deputy in the marked squad car saw the biker, moved to the left of the shoulder, but somehow still ended up hitting the biker.
The incident happened on Highway 8 near mile marker 193, three miles south of Bowbells.
The Bowbells Ambulance staff took the bicyclist to Trinity Health in Minot.
The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
