On Saturday prior to the Texas Rangers’ matchup vs. Seattle, the team took a little time out to pay tribute to the King.
Elvis Andrus was officially inducted into the Rangers’ Hall of Fame, becoming the 27th member to receive the navy blue jacket and a plaque commemorating his historic career with the Rangers franchise.

The Rangers hosted a pregame ceremony to honor Andrus, one that was laden with former Rangers teammates and current Hall of Famers (both Rangers Hall and Baseball Hall alike). Michael Young, Adrian Beltre, Ferguson Jenkins, Mitch Moreland and Matt Harrison were just a few of the names on hand.
Andrus was honored with a tribute video on the video board and with speeches from Young and Beltre before Andrus himself addressed the crowd.
Check out video of Andrus’ speech along with the Rangers’ tribute video for their former shortstop below.
