First responders in Moore are mourning the death of a dispatcher after her battle with cancer.

Amanda Friend served the city for more than four years. The Moore Police Department announced her death on Facebook, remembering her strength, compassion and unwavering dedication to her community.
She was described as being a calming voice during chaos, and she was someone who put others first. The police department said her legacy of kindness will not be forgotten.

“Amanda was a vital part of our team, a steady, calming voice during difficult moments and a true friend to many,” said Chief Todd Gibson in the post. “Her infectious positivity and unwavering commitment to service before self left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones. Amanda will be deeply missed.”
Friend's memorial service was held on Sunday, according to police.
