A teenage boy is in critical condition following a severe road accident on the Greek island of Evia. The incident occurred on Monday evening in the Malakonta area, along the Eretria–Vasiliko road — a section known for its open curves and limited visibility.

According to initial reports, the boy was struck by a passing motorcycle while attempting to cross the road. He had been walking ahead of his mother and younger sibling at the time of the accident. The collision was described as violent, with the motorcycle driver reportedly unable to react in time to avoid the impact.

Emergency services responded immediately. Paramedics from Greece’s national emergency service (EKAB), local police from the Eretria station, and volunteers from the local Civil Protection Team arrived quickly on the scene. The child received first aid on-site before being rushed to the General Hospital of Chalkida.

Due to the severity of his head injuries, the boy was later transferred to a specialized children’s hospital in Athens, where doctors are working intensively to stabilize his condition.
