Maine State Police officials announced Tuesday that a boy has died of the injuries he suffered in a hit-and-run crash in Albion, a collision that also killed his twin brother.The boys' mother, 33-year-old Mollie Egold, was seriously injured in the pedestrian crash, which happened Friday evening in the area of 60 Hussey Hill Road.Police said Egold and her twin sons were struck by a white 2016 Hyundai Veloster that fled the scene.One boy, Bradley, was pronounced dead at the scene, while his brother, Noah, was in critical condition for several days before his death. Mollie Egold was in stable condition following the crash, according to police.Benjamin Lancaster, 44, of Albion, was identified as the hit-and-run driver by investigators. He made his initial court appearance Monday at the Capital Judicial Center in Augusta.Before the second death, Lancaster faced one count of manslaughter, three counts of aggravated criminal operating under the influence and three counts of leaving the scene of a crash involving serious bodily injury or death.Lancaster is being held at the Kennebec County Correctional Facility on $100,000 bail.
