Teen escapes serious injury when car collides with train near Pittsburg
PITTSBURG, Kan. (WIBW) - A teen escaped serious injury Tuesday evening when the car she was driving collided with a train in Crawford County in southeast Kansas, authorities said.
The crash was reported at 6:14 p.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of E. 515 Avenue, about a mile southeast of Pittsburg.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2014 Ford Escape was westbound on E. 515th Avenue when it attempted to drive through an activated railroad crossing arm and was struck by a southbound train.
The Ford’s driver, who was alone in the car, was identified as Onna Jorge-Thelisma, 17, of Pittsburg, was reported to be uninjured. The patrol said Jorge-Thelisma was wearing her seat belt.
There were no reports of injuries of anyone aboard the BNSF train.
