Knoxville police motorcycle officers provided an escort for the Tennessee Theatre's red and gold organ console as it was rolled out of the theater during the noon hour for a short trip to the Miller's Building lobby. The Wurlitzer would remain on display there while the theater underwent restoration. The theater officially closed June 1, 2001, and reopened in January 2005.

Affectionately known as "the duck pond," Fountain City Lake, according to Knoxville.com, is all that remains of the old three-story Fountain Head Hotel that would bring guests in by horse-drawn hack from the end of Knoxville's horse-drawn streetcar line until 1890 when the community changed its name from Fountain Head to Fountain City. The pond was located in front of the hotel. Fountain City was believed to be the largest unincorporated city in the United States until it was annexed by Knoxville in 1962.
