Arizona man arraigned for attempted murder after stabbing in downtown Fargo in June

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — An Arizona man has been arraigned in Fargo for a stabbing in Roberts Alley in downtown Fargo last month.
63-year-old Calvin Phillips of Avondale, Arizona is charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault.
Court documents show that Phillips was seen on video arguing with Marcus Polk around 2:30 in the morning on June 8.
On video, Phillips was heard saying he was going to “gut him” as he started swing a knife at Polk.
He was also heard saying, “I’ll kill that n****”.
He eventually stabbed him in the arm before Polk fled the scene.
He was taken to Sanford by ambulance for treatment.
Phillips was arrested in Phoenix and returned to North Dakota this week.
He will be back in court on August 27.
