RIDOT shifting lane back to original position in Cumberland
CUMBERLAND, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation said it will be shifting a lane on a bridge over Interstate 295 Thursday night.
The northbound travel lane on Mendon Road will be shifted back to its original position, removing a left lane shift.
RIDOT said that the change will create a work zone in the middle of the bridge to complete construction on the center median.
This change will create a work zone in the middle of the bridge so we can finish construction on the center median. In mid-August, we expect to reopen the bridge to its original configuration with two lanes in each direction.
