Second teen arrested, charged in deadly Wyoming shooting
WYOMING, Ohio (WXIX) - A second teen has been arrested after a 15-year-old was shot dead July 9 in Wyoming.
Jaymir Deshea Hill, 15, was identified by the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office as the victim.
The shooting happened at the intersection of Burns Avenue and Washington Avenue at 3:49 p.m.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office says that a second 14-year-old male was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence Thursday in connection with the shooting.
Hill was found at the scene with a gunshot wound to the left shoulder, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office previously said.
He was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment, but died from his injuries.
Brooke Pitman says she witnessed the entire incident.
“I look behind me and I see a kid kind of pacing in the street, a little bit,” She said. “He was on the phone and he looked to be kind of agitated, but I couldn’t really tell what was going on.”
Shortly after, a vehicle Pitman says she’s never seen before, parked nearby. Two boys got out, she says, and the car left.
“When the two boys get out, the boy that was pacing sprints up from the street, and they start fighting around where we are here.”
Pitman says that’s when she saw a gun and called the police.
Pitman and another neighbor say they only heard one shot.
Pitman says she performed CPR on Hill until first responders arrived.
The sheriff’s office says the investigation is ongoing.
If you witnessed or know anything about the shooting, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office asks that you call the HCSO Tip Line at 513-586-5533.
