Pakistan, Uzbekistan FMs officially invite Mullah Hassan

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and Pakistan held separate meetings with the Acting Prime Minister of Afghanistan to discuss expanding political, economic, and regional cooperation and officially invited him to visit their countries.

High-level delegations led by the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan and Uzbekistan arrived in Kabul on Thursday. Bilateral and trilateral meetings were held, and the feasibility study agreement for the Trans-Afghan Railway Project was signed.

Hamdullah Fetrat, deputy spokesman of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), said in a statement that Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund met with Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, and his accompanying delegation.

The Pakistani delegation had come to Kabul to participate in the trilateral meeting between Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, Mullah Hassan welcomed the Pakistani delegation and expressed hope that the visit would pave the way for further expansion of relations between the two countries.

Mohammad Ishaq Dar thanked the IEA for its hospitality and conveyed greetings and good wishes from Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, to the leadership of the IEA.

He also formally invited Mullah Hassan to visit Pakistan in the near future.

The Acting Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the invitation and said he would travel to Pakistan at an appropriate time.

Meanwhile, Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund met with Bakhtiyor Saidov, Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, and his accompanying delegation, describing the relations between the two countries as historic and longstanding.

Saidov conveyed greetings and good wishes from Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Uzbekistan, to Mullah Hassan and the people of Afghanistan, adding that Thursday is a historic day for Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.

He referred to the good interaction between regional and global countries and the IEA, saying that Uzbekistan has supported the Afghan government and people at the international level and will continue to do so.

Saidov stated that so far, more than one hundred delegations have traveled between Uzbekistan and the IEA, indicating strong relations between the two countries.

He expressed hope that this will continue in the future and invited the Acting Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to make an official visit to Uzbekistan.
