A Jefferson City man who pleaded guilty to the sexual abuse of a child was sentenced on Monday.

Cole County Judge Dan Green sentenced Bryan Klempke to five years of supervised probation.

In May, Klempke pleaded guilty to Second Degree Sexual Abuse – Aggravated Sexual Offense.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division investigated the case because of Klempke’s now ex-wife, Christina Garza, 49.

Garza was a former Jefferson City reserve police officer.

The victim said she told Garza about the abuse.

Garza pleaded guilty in August 2024 to a misdemeanor count of Failure Of Mandated Reporter To Report Child Abuse/Neglect Of Child Under 18.

She was sentenced to pay a $2,000 fine and cover the associated court costs. She also had to surrender her Post Certification.
