BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) — Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi showed its appreciation for Prentiss County first responders on Friday.

The ceremony happened Friday morning at Northeast Mississippi Community College (NEMCC).

Booneville police officers, Prentiss County sheriff’s deputies, state troopers, firefighters and more enjoyed a free breakfast.

Special awards were also handed out. Booneville attorney Casey Lott received the 2025 Citizen of the Year award.

Anthony Anderson, the former NEMCC police chief, posthumously received the Officer of the Year award.

"On behalf of our department, his department, and the college, and his family, it's a huge honor to accept this award for Chief Anderson,” NEMCC Police Chief Jason Jackson said. “He was the definition of a public server, and he lived that true mantra of a public server's life."
