Six people have died in separate road accidents across Luxembourg and the border region over the past week, including three motorcyclists.

A series of fatal accidents has claimed almost a life a day this week on Luxembourg’s roads and in neighbouring border areas, some caused by intoxication and speeding.

The most recent incident occurred on Friday evening, when a 29-year-old motorcyclist died in a collision on the A31 near Thionville. The precise circumstances are still under investigation.

A day earlier, two women were fatally struck by a lorry on the A6 motorway near the Belgian border.

Earlier in the week, a 37-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving three cars on the A3.

On Sunday evening, a 42-year-old man from Wiltz died in a head-on collision on the A7, caused by a wrong-way driver.

And last Saturday, a 35-year-old French motorcyclist was killed in an accident near Dudelange, close to the border.

Between Friday and Saturday morning, nine people were also injured across seven separate accidents.
