The Fiji Football Association needs to appoint a new national coach ahead of the men’s team upcoming tour to Thailand.
During the Fiji FA Council Meeting at the Fiji FA Headquarters in Vatuwaqa, Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel confirmed that they have mutually agreed to part ways with former coach Rob Sherman.
He says the decision comes after disappointment over Fiji's performance in Wellington, which fell short of expectations.
The Association expressed gratitude for Sherman’s efforts but emphasised the need for a new direction to improve the team's performance on the international stage.
Patel says with the tour set for the second week of August, the Association aims to finalise the appointment at least three weeks prior to the team’s departure.
The Fiji national team will face Hong Kong, Iraq, and Thailand during the international tour, which is seen as a critical part of their preparations for future competitions.
