Mississippi Seawolves fans excited ahead of playoff series

Mississippi Seawolves fans brought the energy ahead of their playoff matchup against the Columbus River Dragons

It’s finally here. Playoff hockey has made its way to the Mississippi Gulf Coast as the Seawolves take on the Columbus River Dragons.

The Seawolves secured their spot in the 2024 Commissioner’s Cup playoffs after a dominating win over the Baton Rouge Zydeco back in March. A performance that fans are hoping was just a preview of what’s to come in the playoffs.

“It’s super exciting, I’ve had a feeling that we were gonna be really good this year. We’ve had some stretches where it’s been a little rough but we’re a competitive team and I think we can beat anybody in the division and the conference across the league. As long as we play hard and play together, we can beat anybody.”

Ahead of the matchup, the Mississippi Coast coliseum was full of excited fans, plenty of concessions, and merch stores displaying the recently unveiled playoff logo jerseys.

“I like the colors, I like what they represent, I heard Joe Pace explain what they symbolize. I like it, I think its true to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I’m from here so I like it.”

When it’s all said and done, the fans certainly show up and showed out to support their team on the road to glory.

“Since they came back last season this is something that we were looking forward too. I was tracking them before we moved back down here and we were excited. Once we finally got back to a game here with my family, the kids got excited and loved it. We’ve been going to pretty much every home game since.”
